Batam’s most prominent architectural icon, the Barelang Bridge is a must-visit for architecture buffs. Located on Jl. Trans Barelang, Galang, Barelang Bridge is an architectural marvel that connects Batam with several islands to the south. It is a system that consists of a network of six bridges and roads which stretch across the total Barelang island area, with all the bridges combined covering more than 50 kms. Visit this architectural marvel around sunset to watch the sun dip over the Batam islands and capture some stunning photos.

Batam Cable Ski
Batam Cable-ski is located in Waterfront City Resort , Batam Island, Indonesia. It is the first Cable-Ski Park built in Asia. The construction began in February 1992 as part of an attraction for Waterfront City Resort. Everything was built on a reclaimed land on the southern coastline of Batam Island. After 6 months of dredging, filling, piling & cabling… The Ski Park was completed and had the grand opening on 1st August 1992.
To get there, it just a cool one hour deluxe ferry ride from Singapore Harbourfront Centre. So very naturally, the ski park receives majority of its customers from Singapore who would mostly take the Day Package where everything is all arranged for.

Behold the blooming water lotuses at Taman Kolam Sekupang
When you enter, you’ll see a massive lake of 6070 square metres entirely covered by lotus pads. But that’s not all – in the lake, you’ll also find a huge population of bright orange koi fish, which the Chinese deem auspicious, bringing dynamic life to the pond.
You can purchase a bag of fish food from vendors and watch your kids’ faces light up as they feed the fish.
With a cycling trail and jogging path, this park is also the perfect place for some exercise while basking in the beauty of nature.

Cat Eyes Forest
Cat Eyes Forest, or Hutan Mata Kucing, is a mini zoo located in the middle of a jungle. Various types of animals are exhibited inside the cages in this area. You can find primates, birds, and a variety of fishes there. Uniquely, there are dozens of gold Arowana fish measuring one meter, living in a pond.

Discover an isolated waterfall in the forest: Telaga Bidadari Waterfall
Muka Kuning might be just an industrial park, but the forested areas, where the Pancur Waterfall is located, is a gem for nature lovers.
As you hike through the trails of the forests on your way to the waterfall, you will get the chance to wade in shallow streams of the river, cross bridges formed via fallen tree trunks and admire the large swamp areas within the forest.
For the best experience, visit during the rainy season, when there’s more water flowing through the river.

Discover an underwater world in Pulau Abang
Abang Island is one of the islands off the main island of Batam which are uninhabited and untouched. Here, you’ll find a rare species of coral known as the Blue Coral, which only lives in clear waters with excellent water quality.
From harmless clownfish to fierce sea urchins, and a diverse range of species including red snapper, red sandfish, blowfish and pinang, discover their unique colour, shape and size and observe their interactions in their natural habitats.
After your dive at Pulau Abang, head down to Pulau Rano, where there is no lack of underwater life, including salmon and yellowtail fish.

Go glamping at Ranoh Island
The island is also near Pulau Abang – a famed spot for snorkellers as it uncovers a magical underwater world. The entire journey from Singapore to Ranoh Island will take you approximately 4 hours (including all ferry and boat transfers as well as customs in Batam).
There are tons of activities at Ranoh Island so that is why we’d recommend you to stay overnight rather than drop by for only a day trip. Besides snorkelling, you’ll also have access to other water-activities like kayaking and banana boat as well as their exciting giant waterpark that sits smack-bang in the ocean!

The central district of lively bars and clubs in Batam is known as the Nagoya Entertainment District (NED for short). The alcoholic beverages are relatively cheap compared to Singapore and you can enjoy various bars from the low-key lounge to a large nightclub.

Ocarina Park is a great place to come with all the family and is a large entertainment complex which also includes the Ocarina Waterpark. The park has a range of signature features including a large Ferris wheel and you will find a range of rides for children of all ages as well as adults.
There is also a 3D movie theatre inside the park and you will also find a number of food courts where you can get a bite to eat. Certainly, if you are looking for a place with a range of attractions all in one place then this is a great choice.

Pa Auk Tawya Vipassana Dhura Hermitage
As you head up the Pa Auk Tawya Vipassana Dhura Hermitage, a monastery in Batam, you will first ascend 208 stairs, where each step has an intricately carved flower design.
As you head further up, the bell-shaped stupas provide a wonderful backdrop for photos, and you will see a Buddha statue.
When you finally reach the top, you will be awed by a breathtaking view of lush greenery and mountains from afar. And of course, you can also observe traditions of the Buddhist temple, or even join in their meditation.

Play a Round of Golf
There are seven golf courses on Batam. These are Batam Hills Golf Resort, Padang Golf Sukajadi, Indah Puri Golf Resort, Southlinks Golf and Country Club, Tamarin Santana Golf Club, Tering Bay Golf and Country Club, and the Palm Springs Golf and Beach Resort. Each of the seven courses is maintained to international standards and have amenities such as bars and restaurants. Sukajadi is probably the best course around Batam.

Ride a go-kart
If the words “go-kart” is enough to set your pulse racing, you know you need to strike this next activity off your Batam list. Don’t worry, no prior driving experience is required, so even the young ones amongst us can live out our Tokyo Drift dreams.
Lone riders will need to pay Rp.140.000 ($13.43) for 10 minutes. Double seater options are available at Rp.235.000 ($22.54) for the same duration but these are meant for parents with children under 130cm.
